Jelly and Ice-cream are looking for management for the Popsicles Children’s Playclub in Val d’Isere.

We are looking for two professional childcare experts with a strong leadership experience of running crèche, kids clubs and nurseries to manage Popsicles.

The children in the Popsicles Playclub are from age 2 to age 6 and Popsicles will provide full time childcare.

• Euro bank account
• Available to work throughout the contract from early December to end of April.
• 2 years+ experience (minimum) in childcare.
• DBS Check within the past 12 months
• Paediatric First Aid within the last 12 months
• Languages are desirable but not essential

Job description

As a nanny, you will work wherever the family is based (hotel, chalet or apartment) and will be responsible for all tasks related to the care of the children.

• To have sole/shared responsibility for a baby/child/children during stipulated hours.
• To ensure their safety and well being at all times.
• To devise a structured day with stimulating activities.
• Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children.
• Supervise the children’s activities at all times
• Plan and prepare meals and bottles for the children and babies.
• Dress the children.
• Place the children down for naps and bedtime.
• Change nappies and support potty/toilet training.
• Perform housework related to child care, including washing the children’s clothes if soiled, cleaning up after meals, tidying play areas, and washing bottles.
• Play with the children, both indoors and outdoors.
• Supervise ski school when required.
• Administer medicine to the children, with parental permission.
• Working hours will be stipulated on a weekly basis, these are non-negotiable but will be within a realistic time frame for working as a nanny.
• You will work exclusively for Jelly & Ice-Cream as a nanny.
• This job allows for a fair amount of time on the mountain.
• You will be subject to vetting and referencing.
• You will be on a trial period for the first 4 weeks.
• You must be fit and capable to fulfill the tasks required.
• You must enjoy working closely within a small team and be a team player and enjoy the varied work load. No two days are ever the same!
• You will be expected to work under your own steam, be self motivated and to support one another in any tasks.

UK Passport holders
For the right candidates applying to work in our winter resorts, we will support UK passport holders to apply for a visa although all associated costs are the responsibility of the individual.

Ski Passes
In ski resorts you will be able to join an employees association to receive a discount on your seasonal ski pass.  If employment is terminated with Jelly & Ice-Cream, you may lose you membership status and may forfeit your ski pass.

Ski hire
All hire equipment must be returned at the end of the season in the same condition it was supplied in. You are responsible for all equipment if it is lost or stolen and are liable for any costs to replace it. Any costs may be deducted from your wages. If employment is terminated, all equipment must be returned within 24hours to the shop or you may be charged a late fee. All equipment must be signed for by the employee agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Affordable shared accommodation will be available in resort.

Brief Job Description

• Training is provided
• Linen duties
• Emptying waste bins and transporting waste material to designated collection points.
• Sweeping and mopping floors.
• Hovering and “spot” cleaning carpets.
• Dusting, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments.
• Replenishing consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required within the contract.
• Clean toilets, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers.
• Wall washing and inside window cleaning.
• Cleaning cookers, electrical items and work surface areas.
