About
Jelly and Ice Cream
Dear families,
My name is Tina Eliades, and I launched Jelly and Ice Cream for the skiing season in 2006/7, offering highly qualified private nannies to the families in Val d’Isère . We quickly expanded into the six French Alpine locations plus Mallorca and St Tropez, and we are so happy to share that we have families that book our wonderful nannies for both their summer and ski holiday.
In 2024 I launched Popsicles Children’s Playroom in Val d’Isère. This is a perfect option for those that want a child-oriented play environment for their little ones aged two to six years old. The little ones have their days filled with arts and crafts, make believe games, snowmen building, cosy naps, quiet time and they eat wholesome homemade snacks and meals. We have created a safe and fun haven for playtime.
Our carefully chosen nannies are vetted, hold first aid certificates, childcare qualifications and have happy, warm and caring personalities and of course they all love to spend time with children. We are proud to provide care for all children, from six weeks up to teens and are so happy that our families, return to us again year after year.
I am passionate about childcare and want to reassure you we work very hard to ensure our nannies provide the highest level of care for your children. Towards that end, I am happy to provide any further information you need, and I very much look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,
Tina

Why choose Jelly & Ice-Cream Childcare
★ Nanny matched to your requirements
We carefully match our nannies to each family on an individual basis. We find a great relationship and good communication between the nanny and the parent is the key to success.
★ Peace of mind
Having the peace of mind that the nanny won’t be waiting at the door with her coat on, if you have been stuck on the lift. It’s good to know your little ones are in safe hands.
★ Resort Knowledge
Your nanny will know where the ski school is located, will have recommendations for that amazing (child friendly) restaurant that serves an amazing lunch. If she doesn’t know something then she has the resourcefulness to find out.
★ Experience
We know the tricks of the trade to get your two year old to keep their gloves on while it’s bitter cold or where the nearest loo is at all times. For many families bringing a child on a ski holiday is a new experience and having a nanny that knows how to help ensures the holiday is a relaxing experience.
★ Training
Our nannies are not only first aid trained they know how to be vigilant from the signs of the cold, having open fire places in chalets to unearthed French electrics. Plus they have knowledge and understanding about the altitude and the effects it may have on babies and young children.
★ Planning ahead
A full brief is shared with the nanny about the child or family they will be supporting. They then can plan ski school collections, trips to the soft play, sledging session or plan to meet the parents up at the top of the mountain for a hot chocolate.
★ Making memories
Our nannies are extremely creative. We run theme on peak weeks and love getting the children outside, ice-skating, building snowmen and sledging are all typical snowy activities. We provide toys and crafts.
★ What to bring
Parents will need to bring all clothing for the child plus spare socks and gloves. Please bring personal items such as sun-cream,sunglasses, sun hat, waterproof gloves and boots are essential along with a good jacket and salopettes. A small backpack is always handy too to pop a small bottle of water in with some treats to leave with the ski school too.
★ Emotional support
Children can get separation anxiety, this is common but our nannies have lots of caring distraction techniques to support them and have experience in dealing with upset children.
★ Dietary requirements
Food preferences and allergies are discussed carefully with the nanny at the initial client meeting. Often parents will pre-prepare the meals for the children, give the nanny a lunch-float to go to a restaurant or a shopping list and prepare nutritious meals which are child friendly.
This list is not exhaustive please ask if you have any questions, we want you to feel reassured that your little ones will be in very safe hands.
